* AT 754 PM EDT…SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE DETECTED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM LUSBY TO 13 MILES WEST OF SAINT GEORGE ISLAND…AND WERE MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH. THIS LINE OF STORMS IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.

* TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
CENTRAL AND EASTERN MARYLAND
NORTH-CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
CENTRAL AND EASTERN VIRGINIA
EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE
COASTAL WATERS

* EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 230 PM UNTIL 1000 PM EDT.

* PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE…
SEVERAL TORNADOES POSSIBLE
SEVERAL DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE
A FEW LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 70 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 15 MILES EAST OF DANVILLE VIRGINIA TO 40 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF BALTIMORE MARYLAND.
